I just started going out with this guy should i wait for him to text me first?

Ok so im only 14 and i have known this guy for almost 8 years and we have always like each other, he has asked me out so many times before but i have always said no because of his rep, and only now we have started kinda going out. Last night he text me and asked me if i wanted to go out with him and i said yes were ment to go out in 2 days time to the movies, hes not exaclty the best guy to go out with hes so sweet but he has a bad reputation for cheating on girls, he promised me he would never cheat on me now only now i said ok i can trust him . Anyway since last night he hasnt text me at all to discuss going out tomorrow and the days just about over. Is it just me or is this a bad sign?? i dont wanna text him first because i see it as if he wanted to text me he would have right? am i stupid to trust him. PLEASE HELP! i have to i dea what to do about this.
