Help on going Natural?

I've been going natural for about 5 months now, and i haven't done much but braid, and i cant get my hair braided till like next week, so i need some hair ideas, I've got the products i need like conditioner, hair lotion, setting spray/lotion, curling iron, flat iron, blow dryer, towel, curling iron ( if needed of course) combs, hair bands, and different ornaments... it seems my hair is a type 4a.. it feels very tightly curled and bushy from my roots, i have short hair, because i cut it when my sew ins got messed up, so it is about neck length, and very curly from the roots and about 3 inches down, the rest is Straight hair, so i am pretty much working with two textures, so any ideas on hair styles?
