I need some real help with a legal issue no BS just real help...?

Ok, in 2002 me and my "husband" were married by a friend of ours and shortly after my hubby was arrested and has been in prison all the way up into present day. We didn't even get a chance to consummate the marriage. I have only found out recently that the officiant of our marriage dead shortly after performing the ceremony and never filed the license and I don't know what I can do to have the marriage recognized? My "husband" will be home very soon and I really want to consummate the marriage but I refuse to get remarried when we have gone through so much together believing that we were and husband and wife is there anything we can do, any kind of loophole? Has anyone heard of getting a marriage pardon? Please real help only no criticism!!!!
