Is there a strong anti catholic feeling in England?

i watched a programme the other day where anne widdecombe stsated that since converting to catholicism she has recieved alsorts of hate mail,im not a catholic but i have no ill feeling towards them,i know of the troubles in Ireland but i wasnt that aware of it in england
